First Look - MKII Commander GMT: Continuing To Build A Legacy
We drew our inspiration from some of the most iconic dual purpose tool watches in the world, added an incredible amount of value, and designed a stunning timepiece that will be as beautiful as it is affordable. The MKII Commander GMT is a multi-purpose Aviator’s tool watch that is equally at home in the air, on land, or during your seaborne adventures thanks to its uncompromising build quality and an impressive 200 meters (650 feet) of water resistance.
As with all AWCO timepieces, the MKII Commander GMT places a premium on legibility and purposeful functionality. The combination of the Swiss made GMT calibre and the rotating, bidirectional polished ceramic bezel allow you to track up to 3 time zones simultaneously including military “zulu” time, or Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Having the ability to quickly and accurately determine GMT, the standard time zone for all aviation operations, is critical to both professional civilian pilots and military mission Aviators.
We’re continuing to build upon our reputation for producing this watches using the best available available materials and delivering them at an affordable price. The alternating brushed and polished watch case is molded from solid 316L Industrial Grade Stainless Steel, the very same type of steel used in luxury watches that cost 10x the price. We use a highly scratch resistant sapphire crystal, over 3mm thick and treated with anti-reflective (AR) coating for superior visibility and anti-glare properties in all lighting conditions.
At 42mm in diameter, the Commander GMT is practical for wear in both professional and casual environments. The ruggedness of this watch never overshadow its commanding beauty. The case finishing thoughtfully transitions from utilitarian vertical brushing on the upper surfaces to perfectly polished, chamfered edges resulting in an eye catching shimmer in all but the darkest of lighting conditions.
The MKII Commander GMT will be available in 4 different configurations. The beautiful, dress oriented Blue Starburst and Warm Gold models, and two tactical inspired models in either black and our limited edition tan dial colorways. The most powerful Swiss Luminova™ will be used on all models for superior nighttime visibility, and all models will be shipped with both a textile NATO strap, as well of your choice of a milled Stainless Steel bracelet or genuine Italian Leather strap.
